Privacy Policy

Information Collection

To fulfill all orders to the highest standard I need a certain amount of personal data from each customer eg. Name, postal address, e-mail address and payment details. There are a number of legal bases to collect, use and share your personal information:

  • To complete your orders, amend orders or settle disputes
  • When your consent has been provided to join my mailing list, which you may opt out of at any stage
  • If necessary to comply with a court order, legal claims or requirements by tax law
  • I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations as a seller

Information Sharing And Disclosure

Information is shared for a very limited number of reasons:

  • Service Providers - your data will be shared but only when necessary to perform a service (eg delivery companies) and the bare minimum amount of information may be shared
  • Square - the payment service used to collect inputted payment details not used throughout Paypal. They detail their own Privacy Policy on their website detailing how they retain your data. 
  • Paypal - when using Paypal to complete a transaction with Made In The Motherhood you are accepting the terms of their Privacy Policy also 
  • GoDaddy - as the host website builder for my store, your information may be shared by hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result your information will then be treated with and adhered to the data protection laws within that specific jurisdiction. GoDaddy will retain your information but it will be stored safely. Go Daddy in itself has its own Privacy Policy available on their website. Made In The Motherhood will also follow the privacy policy stated by GoDaddy in regards to collecting and keeping consumer details 
  •  Compliance with laws - I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others 
  • Business Changes - If Made In The Motherhood was to be sold or merged with another business only information allowed by law will be exchanged

Data Retention

Your data will be retained for as long as necessary for me to complete your order and for as long as the law states to coincide with all my legal and regulatory obligations. The following time period of 5 years will be as standard.

Your information will be printed on a receipt and sent to you, no other hard copies will be kept and your details will be stored on  password protected phone/computer

Your Rights

  • You may ask, at any time, for a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me as stated below
  • You have the right to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
  • You have the right to object to receiving marketing messages from Made In The Motherhood after you have provided consent to receive them. Your information will be deleted unless there are pressing legal reasons for it to be kept 
  • You have the right to raise a concern, if you wish, about how your data is stored with your local data authority

For purposes of EU Data Protection Laws there is only 1 member of Made In The Motherhood that will collect, be fit to view and store your information.

If, much like me before I started my own business, I had no clue what any of that meant then simply - I keep your details stored on a password protected laptop which nobody other than me has access to. Your details are kept by me for delivery purposes and as proof of sale for the legal standard amount of time (for tax purposes). As Go Daddy is the host where I built my website then they store your details according to their Privacy policy and GDPR guidelines also. Square and Paypal are used to accept payment methods which both follow their own Privacy Policy and comply with GDPR guidelines. All associated links are included above.
